Maxwell-Labs manufactures nano-scale whiskers, which are highly-crystalline, usually elongated along one direction, in high aspect ratios (as shown in the figure below). Whiskers are known for their extreme strengths—among the greatest tensile strengths known for any material that is not a single molecule (often on the order of 10-30 GPa).
